Adena Senior Killed In Two-Car Crash Saturday An Adena high school senior was killed in an auto accident following her school's prom early Saturday. Lisa Jo Brookover, 17, Chillicothe Rt. 3, was pronounced dead at 1:26 a.m. Saturday in Ross County Medical Center. The crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. on SR 207 at its intersection with Westfall rd. Ross County sheriff's deputies reported the car she was a passenger in, driven by Michael J. Gallaugher, 21, Clarksburg Rt. 1, was eastbound on Westfall rd and failed to stop at the intersection with SR 207. Their car struck a northbound on SR 207 driven by Brett J. Roseboom, 20, Chillicothe. Roseboom's auto flipped over during the crash, and the other continued off the right side and into a field. Both drivers were taken to Ross County Medical Center by the Concord Township Life Squad. They were released later. Miss Brookover was born May 22, 1961, in Chillicothe. She was a member of the Adena High School Choir and Future Homemakers of America. Surviving are her parents, Ralph E. and Karen L. Bethel Brookover; her grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Allen Brookover of South Salem and Mr. And Mrs. Vernon Bethel of Chillicothe, and a sister, Teri Kay Brookover, and brother, Tracy Brookover, both at home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Frankfort United Methodist Church. Rev. Glen Hiles and Rev. Michael Wright will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Ralph E. Brookover was the son of Allen G. (Bob) Brookover and Ethel Mae Cokonougher. . Karen L. Bethel was the daughter of Vernon Bethel. Allen G. (Bob) Brookover, born May 19, 1900 in Brown County, Ohio; died August 1987 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. He was the son of John Oscar Brookover and Mary Matilda Dietrich. Ethel Mae Cokonougher, was born August 16, 1900 in Ross County, Ohio; died October 09, 1982 in 8:15p.m. in Frankfort, Ross County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William S.(Bill) Cokonougher and Catherine Rayburn. William S. (Bill) Cokonougher, born June 12, 1874, was the son of Zackriah Cokonougher and Mary Elizabeth Wisecup. Zackriah Cokonougher, born April 02, 1853 in Ohio; died September 14, 1904 in Ross County, Ohio. He was the son of Adtson Elsworth Cokonougher and Elizabeth Shoemaker. Mary Elizabeth Wisecup, was born February 14, 1856 in Adams County, Ohio., and died April 27, 1934 in South Salem, Ross County, Ohio.. She was the daughter of Joseph Elwood Wisecup and Phoeba Frost. Adtson Elsworth Cokonougher, born June 28, 1824 in Virginia; died December 21, 1882. He is believed to have been the son of Christopher Cokonougher and Elizabeth Dodge (or Dodds), although further supporting documentation needs to be found to confirm or deny this belief. Joseph Elwood Wisecup, born March 20, 1830 in Ohio; died January 11, 1906 in Ohio. He was the son of Jackson Wisecup. Phoeba Frost, born Abt. 1830; died August 1859 in Meigs township. Adams County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Jacob Frost and Proba ?. Christopher Cokonougher, born March 11, 1797 in Virginia (West Virginia), was the son of Christopher Cokonougher and Mary Maglean Longnecker. .
