The proper spelling for the last name of Violet is Koch, not Coch. Errata : 1. Nora was my grandmother. She lived in Ross County, in the Fruitdale and South Salem area for most of her childhood and married life, even though she was born in Pike County, Ohio, and died in Highland County, Ohio. When I first started in genealogy, I asked her how she and my grandfather, Tony, met. She replied, "I met your grandpa at the Beechgrove Church at a social. He asked me to dance. I was scared to death. I thought I was ugly and he wouldn't ever ask me again, but he did." The Beechgrove Church was on Lower Twin Road in Twin Township of Ross County, near intersection of Lower Twin Road and Porter Hollow Road. 2. From the 11 Sept. 1986 Greenfield, Ohio "Greenfield Daily Times", page 3: "MRS. NORA H. SMITH MARKS 75TH B'DAY" Mrs. Nora Hester Smith of Greenfield celebrated her 75th birthday Sunday, Sept. 7 at a dinner entertained by her daughter, Viola Hester Cokonougher. Fifty-two persons gathered with the birtday lady to share her special day. "Happy Birthday" was sung as she cut the decorated cake made by her granddaughter, Judy Brill. She thanked everyone for coming and for the array of gifts and greeting cards she received. Those present were Kenneth Tapp, Fort Walton, Ky., Mrs. Elizabeth Hayden, Cincinnati, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Kingery, Circleville, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cokonougher and twin sons, Craig and Curtis, and daughter Tracey, Bainbridge, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Ruth) Barrows and family, Jamie, Kenneth, Tommy and Brennen, Chillicothe; Ralph Cokonougher and girls, Akiko, Amelia and Yasuyo, New Holland, Sarah Loring and daughter, Julie, Columbus, Mrs. Judy Brill and childen, Scott and Karen, and Mr. and Mrs. Monte Miller, Washington C.H.; Harry L. From the transcript of marriage of 7 Sept. 1926 for NORA SPURGEON and HAROLD HESTER (note that the husband’s place of residence should be Lyndon, not Linden, that the wife’s place of birth was Pike County, Ohio, not Fruitdale, and that the surname of the mother of the bride was Levy, not Leang.) : "REGISTER OF MARRIAGE.
