				John A. Schmidt

	John A. Schmidt, 70, of South Salem, died suddenly at 2:10 p.m. in his 
residence.
	Born in Ross county March 26, 1892, he was a son of Martin and Mary 
Snarrenberger Schmidt.  On Nov. 10, 1920 he married Anna Cokonougher, who 
survives.
	He was a member of the Baptist church.
	Service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Murray funeral home, in 
charge of Rev. Donald Cummans.  Burial will be made in Greenfield cemetery.
	Friends may call at Murray's after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
	In addition to his wife, he is survived by two foster children, Mrs. 
John Leach, of Greenfield, and Alvin Conaway, of South Salem, and a sister and 
a brother, Mrs. Herbert Lowery, of Buena Vista, and Herman Schmidt, of 
Leesburg.  He was predeceased by two brothers.


Additional Comments:
John and his wife Anna operated a general store in South Salem for many years.  
John also had blacksmith skills.
