From the Hillsboro, Ohio "Press Gazette", page 2, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 1990:

                             HARRY L. SMITH  
     HARRY L. SMITH, 90, of Greenfield, died Thursday, December 20 at the 
Greenfield Area Medical Center.  He was born May 31, 1900, in Ross County, the 
son of HIRIAM SMITH and EMILY (COUNTRYMAN) SMITH.  He was a member of the 
Fourth Street Holiness Church.  He is preceeded in death by first wife, 
VIOLET, second wife, NORA, one son, PAUL SMITH, six brothers and four 
sisters.  He is survived by four daughters, DOROTHY ROSE of Greenfield, MARY 
GRAGG of Frankfort, OLIVE GOOD of Greenfield, JANICE HAMPTON of Portsmouth, 
one son, CARL HATFIELD of Washington C.H., 28 grandchildren, 27 great 
grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.  Services were Saturday, 
December 22 at the Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Burchett 
officiating.  Burial followed at the South Salem Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Harry was the second husband of Nora Ellen (Spurgeon) (Hester) Smith, who was 
the daughter of Alexander and Lillie Spurgeon.
