C. Ray Storts, 80, Route 1, Lyndon, a retired principal in the Chillicothe School System, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the Barbara Park Nursing Home, Middletown. He had been ill two years. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Murray Funeral Home, Greenfield, with the Rev. Clair Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in South Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. The retired school teacher had taught at Lower Twin School, in the Greenfield schools and at the night school at the former Federal Reformatory in Chillicothe. A native of South Salem, he was born Sept. 16, 1896, to Ira Storts and Myrtle COKONOUGHER Storts. On Dec. 31, 1916, he was married to the former Elsie Ulen who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Loyd, Fullerton, Calif., and Lewis, Route 3, Greenfield; three daughters, Mrs. Eloise McDonald, Chillicothe, Mrs. Eleanor Rae Green, Wilmington, and Mrs. Earl (Rosalie) Mercer, Franklin; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph, Zanesville, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Leach, Leesburg. He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Mr. Storts was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in South Salem.
