EUGENE ‘GENE’ STORTS O. Eugene “Gene” Storts, 87, of Westerville and Dublin, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1919, the son of Goldra and Jessie (Pricer) Storts. On June 19, 1942 he married Dorothy J. Anderson, who preceded him in death on May 29, 2003. Survivors include a son, William (Kay) Storts, and a daughter, Ann (Bill) Murnane; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Phyllis Delany of Dayton; brother Ray Storts of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Jerriene Underwood, Betty Phillips and Nettie Storts. Mr. Storts graduated from Buckskin High School in South Salem and in 1936 was a geology major at Muskingum College. He joined the United States Army and served from 1943 through 1946, including 11 months of overseas duty in Japan and the Philippines. He was employed at the Dayton Air Force Depot as Chief of the Commodity Systems Branch in 1952 and later transferred to DCSC in Columbus where he worked until his retirement on Aug. 1, 1973. He served on the A.B. Graham Local School Board in St. Paris and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Terre Haute Methodist Church and the Church of the Messiah Methodist Church of Westerville. … Hill Funeral Home, 220 S.
