This is a photo of Jacob Alexandria "Alex" Spurgeon and his wife Lillie Mae 
(Levy) Spurgeon.  It was probably taken around 1930.  

Additional Comments:
	Jacob Alexandria "Alex" Spurgeon  was born 11 June 1859 in Fayette 
County, Ohio.  He died 12 November 1938 in Buckskin Township near the SE 
corner of the junction of Lower Twin Rd. and Edgington Rd., Ross County, 
Ohio.  He was the son of  James Thomas Spurgeon (b. 23 April 1826 in Ohio or 
Kentucky) and  Sarah Ellen Lytle (b. April 1824 in Ohio; d. 13 Sept. 1915 in 
Highland Co., Ohio).  He married Lillie Mae Levy on 17 April 1892.  
	Lillie Mae Levy was born 19 July 1877 in Pike County, Ohio.  She died 
10 Feb. 1951 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.   She was the daughter of John 
Levy (died 1 Jan. 1909 in Pike County, Ohio) and Nancy J. Lawson.
	
The children of Jacob Spurgeon and Lillie Levy were:
		i.	Harriet Almira "Hattie" Spurgeon, born 18 October 1893 
in Pike County, Ohio; died 09 January 1942 in Greenfield, Highland County.  
Ohio.  She married Charles Henry Benson in 1909.
		ii.	Cora Emeline Spurgeon, born 26 November 1898 in Pike 
County, Ohio; died 1987.  She married Ralph Hoffman on 08 March 1915.
		iii.	Nellie Irene Spurgeon, born 12 March 1902 in Pike 
County, Ohio; died 04 August 1986 in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio.  She 
married Glen Ryan on 24 December 1922.
		iv.	Lafayette Spurgeon, born 22 April 1906 in Pike County, 
Ohio; died 30 October 1989 in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio. He married 
(1) Flora Coe; and, (2) Ester ?.
		v.	Nora Ellen Spurgeon, born 05 September 1911 in Pike 
County, Ohio; died 30 April 1987 in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio.  She 
married (1) Harold "Tony" Dwight Hester on 07 September 1926 in Mason County, 
Kentucky.; and, (2) Harry Layton Smith on 19 September 1973 in Chillicothe, 
Ohio.
