"Salley" (Pennisten) Clark, wife of James Lawson Clark. Additional Comments: James and Sarah "Salley" Clark lived in Pike County, Ohio before moving to Ross County, Ohio. Sarah was the daughter of George Pennisten Jr. and Rebecca Wheaton. Her grandfather was George Pennisten Sr., one of the original pioneers to settle in early southern Ohio in the late 1700's. Sarah's husband, James Lawson Clark, was the son of William Clark, another early pioneer of southern Ohio, and one of the many men of the same name to settle the area. Sarah and James Clark were the parents of Robert Clark, Rebecca Clark, Mary (Clark) Houseman, Hannah (Clark) Crayne, Sarah Clark, James Clark Jr., Priscilla Clark, Martha (Clark Collins), Vienna (Clark) Rowland, George Clark, John Clark, Edward Clark, and Louisa Clark.
