The address of the building is 4449 Main Street, and it is at Latitude 39.336795 and Longitude -83.307878. Additional Comments: The Mount Zion Baptist church was described in 1902 on page 321 of THE COUNTY OF ROSS (Henry Holcomb Bennett, Editor. Madison, Wisconsin) as follows: "The Protestant Methodists organized a class, and built a church in Salem about 1851. After a struggling existence of some ten years, the building was sold to the colored Baptists, and they still maintain an organization known as Mount Zion Baptist church." I don't know exactly when the church and school closed, but my father was born in 1922 and memories of the school and church were still prevalent enough during his lifetime that he could point to the exact building where the church was and tell of its existence.
