Cokonougher. Ohio. TEC5. HQ BTRY. 185 FA BN. World War II. April 19, 1917. Sept. 22, 1966." This is a bronze miltary veteran's gravestone. Cecil also has a separate granite gravestone. His grave is next to his parent's graves. Additional Comments: Cecil was born 19 April 1917 to John Henry Cokonougher (1883-1963) and Amelia Irene (Miller) Cokonougher (1900-1963). He was a soldier in World War II, a farmer, and a postal rural route mail carrier. He never married. He died 23 Sept. 1966 at his residence of a heart attack and aneurism. Cecil's brothers and sister were John Henry Cokonougher (1919-1994), Howard William Cokonougher (1922-1984), Herbert Miller Cokonougher (1924-1967), and Geraldine June (Cokonougher) Barnhart (1933-1993). On the day that he died, Cecil felt sick and called the local ambulance driver, who was also an undertaker, to come and get him. Cecil then walked out to his front porch and sat on the steps to wait. When the ambulance arrived, the driver found Cecil dead on the steps.
