All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sharon Geffert momgeff@yahoo.com November 24, 2008, 1:10 am Sandusky Daily Register October 22, 1918 Michael Kriss, aged 84 years and 7 months, and a pioneer resident of Townsend Township, Sandusky County, received injuries which resulted in his death when he fell from a ladder from the haymow in his barn late Sunday afternoon. He died at 9 p.m. When he did not respond to a call for supper his wife began to search for him and discovered him lying on the barn floor. Dr. Gorsuch of Castalia, was called and found that several ribs had been broken and internal injuries were also sustained. The deceased had been a resident of Townsend township for the past 60 years and was a G.A.R veteran. Surviving relatives are; widow, five sons, Albert of Toledo; Frank and Fred of Townsend and John and George of Sandusky; four daughters, Mrs. Henry Barber of Oxford township; Miss Rose Kriss of Clevland; Mrs. Ira Barber of Vickery; and Mrs. Carl Reese of Oxford township; 25 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Solomon of Huron and Jacob of Sandusky, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Mossett of Cleveland.
