She died young and is buried in Fremont, Ohio. Need death date and cause, perhaps parents names also. They had a son who was raised for several years by his aunt in Fremont. Any information valuable. The Gomoll family may have Indian heritage. Please contact by my e-mail address. Thank you. ------------------------------ From: auntbea@winesburg.com Laura Augusta Gomoll Cotterman died June 30, 1940. Obituary from Fremont News Messenger, July 1, 1940. Mrs. Laura Augusta Gomoll cotterman, 24, of 708 Franklin Avenue, wife of Cecil Cotterman, died at her home on Sunday at 3:50 am. A lifelong resident of Fremont, Mrs. Cotterman was born here November 13, 1915, a daughter of Herman and Ina Mathilda Smith Gomoll. She was married to Cecil Cotterman on August 21, 1936 with the Rev. W. S. Crick, pastor of the First Brethren Church, officiatin. She had been employed at the Troy-Model Laundry. Coroner D. W. Philo, who was cummoned on the case, returned a verdict of death due to complications following a self-inflicted illegal operation. Surviving are the husband; one son, Larry, 2 1/2 years old; the mother, Mrs. James Hufford of Fremont; the stepfather; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Townsend and Mrs. Russell Cotterman both of Fremont; and two brothers, Leslie and Thurman Gomoll, of Fremont. Her father and one brother preceded her in death. The body was removed to the Weller-Wonderly Funeral Home, where it will remain and where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm The Rev. D. L. Caldwell, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Church will officiate and burial will be at McGormley Cemetery. The illegal operation was an abortion, told to me last October by Ruby Kapp of Fremont Ohio who was a friend of Laura's. I have extensive information at the Gomoll's, because Laura's grandfather, Albert Gomoll was a brother to my greatgrandmother Amelia Gomoll Pasch. I am absolute certain that there is not any Indian blood in the line, since I have documentation (and verbal stories) that Albert and his wife came from Germany with a family group. I do not know anything about Laura's mother's family, but I do have contacts that might know something. ==== OHSANDUS Mailing List ====
