Wednesday Morning, March 4, 1896, at her home in Colby, Sophia, wife of John Dymond,
aged 46 years.

Funeral services were held at York Chapel Saturday.  Interment in cemetery
adjoining.

The accident which occasioned this sad death is related by the Clyde Enterprise as
follows:

“Her husband and sons had hitched a family horse to a top buggy, and Mr. and Mrs.
Dymond were about to 
start with the rig for Clyde.  Mrs. Dymond got into the buggy, the lines were thrown
over the dash, and her 
husband got down to inspect a loose shoe on the horse, when the animal became
frightened at something, 
gave a terrific jump and started to run.  Mrs. Dymond became frightened and instead
of siezing the lines 
she attempted to jump from the buggy.  It is thought she must have been caught in
the wheel and dragged 
for some distance.  Her head and face were badly cut and bruised, and injuries to
her chest indicated that 
she was hurt internally.  When picked up she was unconscious and remained so until
late that afternoon 
when she died.

Wedesday afternoon, Mrs. John Dymond of Colby, met with a violent death at her home.
 Mr. and Mrs. 
Dymond were about to leave home for a shopping visit to Clyde.  Mrs. Dymond was in
the buggy and her 
husband was getting into it.  Jut then the horse was from some unknown cause
frightened and thinking to 
save herself the lady jumped, strinking with great forceon her head on the frozen
ground.  She was picked 
up unconscious and remained so for two hours steadily failing until life ended.
