Jesse Knott, 55, of Riley township, was found dead in his barn late Wednesday afternoon, September 15. Born to Ridgaway Richard Knott and Eliza Siford in 1871. He had succumed to an attack of heart failure. When Mr. Knott's body was found by a member of his family a knife and half peeled apple were lying nearby, giving evidence that he had died while attempting to peel the apple. He is survived by his widow, Nellie (Miller) Knott, and eight small children. Erwin Elmer, Daniel Ward, Labain Leo, Jesse H., Cecil Simon, Charles Auburn, Lawrence Edward Knott. He was preceded by Rillia Belle, Myron Ridgie, and Walter Wayne Knott. Burial at Lindsey Cemetery. Dr. W. H. Booth, coroner, who was called to the home, pronounced death due to heart failure. The funeral services had not been arranged at the time the news went to press Thursday.
