Death at 12:45 this morning claimed another highly esteemed resident of this 
city when Mrs. Emma E. McCandless passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
C. B. Smith of 331 Fourth street.  Death was due to pneumonia and followed a 
short illness.  Mrs. McCandless, who was about 80 years old, leaves many 
friends to mourn the passing of a good woman.  Funeral services will be 
conducted from the home of Mrs. Smith at 2 p.m. Thursday.  Interment will be in 
Greenlawn.
