Mrs. Cora B. Smith Moore, 94 of 1809-L Wayne Ave., died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday 
at Mercy Hospital.  Born Feb. 2, 1868, at Chesapeake, she was a daughter of 
Azro J. and Emma E. Rose Cory.  She was married April 3, 1888, at Stout to 
Charles E. Smith and after his death in 1933 was married to Phillip Moore.  
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. R. L. Shumate, 1622 12th St., Mrs. Jesse 
Hamilton, 2633 Hamilton Ave., Mrs. Mary Burriss of Key West Fla., Mrs. Earl B. 
Martin, 1724 Grant St., Mrs. William Royal of Hill Rd., West Portsmouth, and 
Mrs. Claude Thompson, 1719 Highland Ave.; a son, Eugene A. Smith of Portsmouth 
Rt. 5; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and four great-great-
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son, 
and a daughter.  Mrs. Moore was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church 
and belonged to the Friendly Neighbors Club at Wayne Hills.  Funeral Services 
are to be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church with Elder Glenn Hill officiating.  
Burial is to be in Greenlawn Cemetery under direction of Daehler Funeral Home.  
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
