John Marshall Sr., 61, former area resident
     John Henry Marshall Sr., 61, of Leaf River, IL, a former Portsmouth 
resident, died Sunday, Aug. 28,1994. at home.
     Born Oct. 29, 1932, in Columbia, KY., a son of Malisia Brookie Sias 
Marshall Middlecamp and the late George Edgar Marshall, he was an independent 
truck driver, a Korean War veteran and a life member of Veterans of Foreigh 
Wars Post of Fort Wayne, IN.
     Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Craycraft Marshall, whom he married 
Oct. 21, 1956, in New Boston; a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Kathy Jo)Hobson of 
Winnebago, IL; two sons, John Henry Jr. and Brian Keith, both of Longview, TX; 
two sisters, Mary Elsie Marsh of Charlottesville, VA., and Doris Oletta 
Marshall Mathis of Leaf River, IL.; three brothers, Claude Edgar Marshall of 
Grove City, OH., George William Marshall of Franklin, MA., and Garey Lee 
Marshall of Bryon, IL.; and nine grandchildren.
     He also was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harry Vincent Middlecamp; 
three brothers, Ernest Eugene Marshall, James Edwin Marshall and Harry Gilbert 
Marshall: and a sister, Malisia Brookie Marshall and two unnamed sisters.
     Services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Finch funeral Home, 405 E. 
Hitt St., Mount Morris, IL., with the Rev. Scott Hatfield officiating, and 
interment in Adeline Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of 
Rockford, IL.
