John Oscar Royal, 86, of 1045 Galena Pike, West Portsmouth, died Thursday at 
Scioto Memorial Hospital.  A Greenup County, Ky. native, he was an Army veteran 
of World War I.  Surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Services are 
planned at 1 p.m. at Daehler Funeral Home, with Pastor Duane O'Ffill 
officiating, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the 
funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 2 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
Sunday.
