                                                    JAMES SAMSON

After an extended illness with paralysis death at 10:30 p.m. Thursday claimed
James Samson, aged 85, a highly respected resident of Harrisonville. Two months
ago Mr. Sampson suffered the third stroke of paralysis. Most of his life was
spent at or near Harrisonville where he will be greatly missed by all who knew
him. The deceased was a faithful member of the M. P. Church at Harrisonville.
His wife preceded him in death several years ago, from which time he has been
making his home with his daughter   [three lines microfilm is torn]  
Harrisonville and Mrs. M. H. Shumway of Portsmouth and a host of other relatives
and friends. The funeral will be held Saturday at one p.m. from the
Harrisonville M.P. Church with Rev. B. F. Lamb in charge. Burial will be in
Bennett Cemetery.

    Mrs. James Samson died at her home ......risonville, Sunday, at 11:30 p.m.
.........was 62 years old. Her husband and four children survive her-Mrs M. H.
Shumway wife of Deputy .....or Shumway, Mrs Thomas H. Bennett, Edward, and Miss
Elida at home. The funeral service will be held   Tuesday afternoon
