Page 10 Mrs. Mary Light Dies Suddenly of Apoplexy Was Sweeping Room When Death Overtook Her. Mrs. Mary Light died suddenly from apoplexy and infirmities of old age last Friday noon. She had been sweeping her room when she was suddenly overtaken by heart failure brought on by old age. She fellto the floor near the couch where she was found by Sadie Beam. Medical attention was immediately sum- moned, but she died within two hours. A brief sketch of her life was read at the funer- al services, Monday by her pas- tor, Rev. Shock. "Mary, daughter of Jacob and Anna Cline, was born in Richland county, Ohio, March 7th, 1841 and departed this life at her late home in Columbus Grove, O., October 20th, 1922, aged 81 years, 7 month, 13 days. Her childhood days and early mar- ried life was spent in the vicinity of her birth, in and near Shelby, Ohio, but in 1871 she with her husband and children moved to Allen county, Ohio and settled on a farm where they lived until 14 years ago when they moved to Columbus Crove. This last move was necessitated on account of advancing age and inability to longer perform the labor neces- sary on a modern farm. In the year 1859 she was united in holy wedlock with Mr. Jere- miah Herahiser of Shelby, Ohio, but this union was destined to short duration, for the renper, Death took the young husband and father after but five years of wedded life, leaving the young widow and one small child to face the world alone. There were three children born, but two died in infancy. After two years of widowhood she was united in marrieage to Mr. Sammuel Light of shelby with whom she lived in happiness and contentment until August 19th, 1911 when the agel of death called him to his eternal reward, after 47 years of wedded life, This union was blessed with two children. Early in life she took upon herself the vows of Christianity and united with the Church of Christ. Some time later she transferred her mambership to the Uniteed Brethren in Christ, first in Shelby, then of Lewis Corners and then in Columbus Grove. It need not be added? here that her life has been con- sistant with her profession for all who know that such is the case. Many have been the ex- pressions of appreciation of her sunshine, cheer and sympathy. Her home has always been a home of hospitality and many a weary pilgrim has found rest and refreshment beneath its shelter- ing roof. May we all bow in humble submission to a wise, just and loving God who "doeth all things well," and may we be able to say with Ruth, "Thy God shall by my God." Of a lage family of children of which was one, six grew to maturity, but only two of them are now living, Mrs. Maggie Laser of Monessen, Pa., and Cal- vin Cline of Columbus, Ohio. Besides the above mentioned, she leaves to mourn her going, three daughters, Mrs. Jennic Bistline of West Unity, O., Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Weaver and Mrs. Carrie Luella Kidd both of near Beaverdam Ohio, one step- son, Sherman Light of Cold- water, Mich., and one step- daughter, Mrs. Emma Davis of Clallam Bay, Washington, 10 grand children and 19 great grand children. Four additional grand children have passed into the beyond. These have all lost a kind and devoted mother and friend, the church a faithful servant of God and the community a citizen of sterling worth and one universal- ly loved. Our loss has resulted in her eternal crowning. "Beautiful toiler?, thy work is done, Beautiful soul, into glory gone. Beautiful life with its crown now won, God giveth thee rest. - Rest from all sorrow and watch- ings and fears, Rest through God's endless wonderful years, At home with the blest."
