Obituary Hugh, son of John and Orzilla Baker, was born in Stark Co., Pa., May 1st, 1889 and departed this life at his home in Columbus Grove, Ohio on December 31st, 1922, aged 83 years, 7 months and 30 days. On October 31th, 1860, he was united in marriage to Elzina Haven, to this union were born nine children. He heard the call of his country and on August 20th, 1862 he enlisted in Co. E, 126 O.V.I. He served faithfully during the remaining years of the war, and was discharged July 25th, 1865. About thirty years ago he united with the Methodist Church at Monroe Center, on December 8th, 1921 he united with the Methodist church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. He leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs. John Davis, of Columbus Grove, three sons, W.E. Baker, J.W. Baker and F. E. Baker all of Lima, Ohio; one sister Mrs. Emeline Vanbuskirk of Cairo, O., three brothers, Wesley Baker of North Dakota, Zephaniah Baker of Toledo, O., and Joseph Baker of Muncie, Ind., twenty eight grand children, twenty-one great grandchildren and many friends. The wife and five children preceded him in death.
