Loose page002 Dedication of Chapel Is Set For Sunday Dedication of the $35,000 Chapel of Roses will be held at 2:30 Sunday, it was announced today by A. J. Hocking, owner of the chapel. The structure has just been completed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Three pastors will officiate at the services, and music will be furnished by a male quartet and by the organ installed in the chapel. The building will be open to inspection by the public after the dedication, to which the public is invited to attend. Already the chapel has been used for a number of wedding ceremonies and funerals. The chapel was planned and built by Mr. Hocking after a trip to the East and to Europe. Early English architecture formed the keynote of the building. Flanking the rows of seats within the chapel auditorium on each side are two rock gardens, each with ferns and flowering plants. Lawns and shrubbery set the chapel in a bower of greenness. Special entrances have been provided at each side of the chapel, with driveways for each. No expense has been spared to make the chapel a thing of beauty. A modern crematorium has been provided in the building, making it unnecessary for those who wish this type of service to leave San Jose. Pastors who will officiate at Sunday's dedicatory exercises include Rev. W. E. Crouser and Rev. James Whitaker of San Jose and Rev. M. M. Kilpatrick of Gilroy.
