These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. page016 DIED AT TOLEDO John Hunt, brother of our townsman Joseph Hunt, died last Thursday afternoon at St. Vincent's hospital in Toledo, where he had undergone an operation for appendickis on Sunday previous. He was aged 57 years and 2 months. The body was removed to the home of deceased at Fremont, and funeral services were held at St. Ann's church in that city Monday morning, conducted by Rev. Fr. Elder, after which interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery at Clyde. Deceased was a son of James and Margaret Hunt and was born at Clyde on Nov. 20, 1863, and received his education in the public schools here. He entered the employ of the Wheeling & Lake Erie road when that line was being constructed and had been in its service ever since. For a time he located at Orrville, where he was married on May 5, 1885, to Miss Mary Higgins. After a short residence at Toledo the family moved to Fremont. For the past five years Mr. Hunt had held the position of general foreman of Toledo division. He was one of the best known railroad men of this vicinity, and was a man universally respected and esteemed. Surviving the deceased are two daughters, Mrs. T. J. Dempsey and Miss Anna Hunt of Cleveland, two brothers, attorney James Hunt of Fremont and Jos. Hunt, Clyde, and a sister, Mrs. Edward T. Dunn of Gibsonburg. The wife and another brother, Thos. L. Hunt, died some years ago.
