DAVID STOUT A SUICIDE. _______ Took Carbolic Acid Tuesday Night While Alone at His Home. _______ David Stout, wellknown citizen of Clyde, committed suicide some time Tuesday night by taking a quantity of carbolic acid at his home on Maple street. The acid was bought on that day at a Fremont drug store. Stout disappeared from Clyde unexpectedly last week, and much concern was felt by his relatives and friends regarding him. After several days word was received from Toledo that he was there with relatives. Monday he returned to Clyde but was evidently laboring under great mental disturbance. He had been in poor health and in a crippled condition for years, and it is thought became despondent. Tuesday he made a trip to Fremont, returning that afternoon. Nothing was seen of him alive after Tuesday, and yesterday afternoon his sister, Mrs. Early Franks, went to his home and found him dead in bed, and by his side a bottle half full of carbolic acid. The cause of his death was only to apparent. The body removed to the Beard undertaking parlors and prepared for burial. Funeral services will be held at his home on Maple street Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be made in McPherson cemetery. Transcribed by: Marianne Hitchcock Smith ----
