Crockett, who is now preaching for the East Side Chrisitan Church, Portland, Oregon, writes to the Enterprise of the activities of the Ohio people in the "Rose City of the Northwest." Rev. Crockett will be remembered as a Clyde boy, a graduate of '89 of the Clyde High School. his brother, E. W. Crockett, is in the brokerage business in the Washington building, Portland. Dr. E. N. Crockett, who is well known by the young people of the early '80's, has an office in the Morgan building. Earl Crockett, who resided in Clyde for a number of years, is in the pharmacy business in a Portland suburb. Earl was married a few weeks ago to Miss Kitty May Stockton, by Rev. Crockett in the East Side church. There is an Ohio society in Portland where they Buckeyes meet to renew old memories. Among the Ohioans in Portland better known to Clyde people is R. B. Bement, a former Blyde boy, who with his son is in business on Hawthorne Ave. under the name of Bement & Bement, and is well and favorably known in the business circles of Portland. Mr. Bement is also prominent in the lodge and church activities of the city. There are many other Ohioans not so well known to Clyde people who are prominent in the educational and political life of the northwest. (The Enterprise hopes for future communication of interest to the Clyde people from Portland, and from other distant cities.) Transcribed by: Marianne Hitchcock Smith ----
