Nearhood-Ayres A quiet wedding occurred at the Methodist church last Saturday at high noon when Miss Frances Ayres, youngest daughter of Mrs. Martha Ayres, was united in marriage to Mr. Leon Nearhood, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nearhood of North Ridge. Rev. T. L. McConnell performed the ceremony, the couple being attended by Mr. and Mrs. Neal Wagner who were the only witnesses. The bride was prettily attired in a blue silk taffeta beaded dress and wore a pretty duvetyne cerise feather hat. She carried a corsage bouquet of ophelia rose and Mrs Wagner a corsage of sweet peas. Following the ceremony a three-cource wedding dinner was served at the Ayres home, with Harry Ayres as caterer, to about twenty relatives and friends. Mrs. Owen Foultner and Miss Pearl Man? serving. Shortly afterward the couple went to Sandusky and from there took a boat to Detroit and are now visiting Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Perrin in Kalamazoo, Mich. Upon their return home they will go to housekeeping in their newly furnished home on the corner of Arch and Church streets. The bride is one of Clyde's most popular ladies and has been active in social affairs and church work. Mr. Nearhood has a nice position with Lee Bros. & Petticord and is a fine young man. Both have a host of friends who extend best wishes for a happy married life. ------ Transcribed by Antje Darling
