  Two Deaths in Townsend.
   Mrs. Katherine Scherz, 79 years of age, a pioneer
   resident of Townsend, died at her home at 10 o'clock
   Thursday morning, after a lingering illness.  She had
   lived over 50 years upon the farm where she died. 
   Mrs. Scherz was the widow of the late George Scherz,
   Townsend township farmer. The deceased is survived by
   two sons, Martin Scherz of Crystal Rock and Fred
   Scherz of Townsend township, ten grandchildren and
   one great grandchild.  The funeral was held at the
   home Sunday afternoon, with burial at Castalia.
