VAUGHNSVILLE John Bennet, was born February 15th, 1834 in Montgomeryshire Co., North Wales, came to America in the fall of 1867 and came to Vaughnsville after spending the winter at Columbus, Ohio. He was married to Mrs. Anna Garner in 1869 and to this union was born one child, jennie, who later became Mrs. Albert Reese. He moved to Kansas in 1889 and was remarried to Mrs. Mary Morris in 1894. They returned from Kansas last August, and have been making their home with his daughter, where his death occured, Saturd The band has been reorganized with the following members: A. A. Jones, Sam Clevenger, Ben Watkins, Chance Roberts, Will Garner, A. J. Watkins, Will Heidlebaugh, J. E. Watkins and B. G. Sinsser. James Shaw, of Columbus Grove, will be the leader, and they will begin practice at once, and on Decoration day expect to render some fine music. In the evening of that day they will give a concert and ice cream and strawberry festival to which all are cordially invited, and it is hoped a liberal patronage will Earl Fenton, of Pandora, spent Sunday here. Several of our farmers are through plowing. The new Presbyterian Church at Wesley Chapel, will be dedicated, Sunday, the 26th. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thomas, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slusser, of Columbus Grove, spent Sunday, among relatives here. Mrs. Mary Swaneott is very ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ceo. Clevenger. T. G. Watkins has been re-elcted member of the school Board, from district number 6. W. H. Hemenway was in Ottawa, Sunday. Attorney, Ben L. Griffiths, of Ottawa, spent Sunday here. Ben isn't likely to ride his wheel on the sidewalks at the Grove, soon again, however. The marriage of one of our popular young men and one of Lima's belles is annouced for April 26.
