of Beautiful Woman
   "Say, Grace, isn't that Mrs
Owens over there at the table with
the woman in the green hat?"
   "Why, yes, I believe that is Mrs.
Owens.  I didn't recognize her,
though, until you called my attention
to her.  I must speak to her before 
she finishes her luncheon.  I haven't
seen her to talk to for ages."
   "I've seen her frequently, but I
have just met her.  She is a stunning
women, isn't she?  A remarkably 
well dressed woman, and she 
carries herself with such dignity."
   "Yes, I really think that all in all
she is one of the handsomest
women I know.  She has a sort of
stately air, however, that isn't 
hardly true of her real character.
One thinks of her as a bit severe
and cold, but she really is the
dearest thing and is always doing
nice things for her friends."
   "She seems to be very popular,
so she must have a great number
of friends."
   "Oh, yes indeed.  Everyone
loves Mrs. Owens."
   "I always admire her clothes
when I see her.  They are very
expensive, of course, and always
in such perfect taste."
   "Oh, really she doesn't spend a
great deal of money for clothes,
One would think so, though,
wouldn't they?  She has such
perfect taste and she buys
practically everything, including
hats, at one place--Cherry's, at
2400 Mission Street.  They open
charge accounts, you know, and
do have such attractive clothes.
Oh yes, they are open Saturday

    Devotion to Christ
   "She hath done what she
could," Mark 14:8.
   Read Mark 14:1-11
   "The ideal homemaker is the
ideal philanthropist.  She dresses
her family with scarlet, and she
reaches forth both hands to the
great world which needs her."
   MEDITATION:  She how Jesus
evaluates sentiment!  The 
devotion of Mary that broke
the alabaster box is one with
woman's God-given impulses
which beget mother love and 
all the family of altruistic passions 
which elevate the race.  Well 
may we reverence it!
   HYMN:
In simple trust like theirs who heard,
   Beside the Syrian sea.
The gracious calling of the Lord,
Let us, like them, without a word,
   Rise up and follow thee.
   PRAYER:  O Heavenly Father,
shed forth they blesses Spirit richly
on all the members of this household.
Make each of us an instrument in thy
hands for good.  Purity our hearts,
strengthen our minds and bodies, fill 
us with mutual love.  Let no pride, 
no self-conceit, no rivalry, no dispute, 
ever spring up among us.  Make us 
earnest and true, wise and prudent,
giving no just cause for offense;
and may thy holy peace rest upon
us this day and every day, sweetening
our trials, cheering us in our work,
and keeping us faithful to the end;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
