Mrs. John Emerson, better known as Anita Loos, famous scenario writer and critic, no doubt secured some interesting material for future work in a coupld of incidents that occured during her stay in Clyde last week. One evening the petite little lady went incognito to the Harkness Theater. The young man at the ticket office didn't know her, of course, but after noting her very girlish figure and attire, bobbed hair and childlike smile he concluded she was "just a kid" and sold her a child's ticket for 10 cents instead of an adult ticket for 20 cents. Saturday night Anita went with a party of friend to see the Carnival at Harvey's Park, and a young lad about 13 years old, noticing her interest in the show, sidled up to her and said shyly, "Won't you ride with me on the Ferris wheel?" Anita was afraid to risk the Ferris wheel, but it is said she enjoyed a ride with the youngster on the "merry-go-round," and the lad doesn't yet know who his fair little partner was.
