SKELETON FOUND NEAR ADA _______ Probably a Foreigner Who Dis- appeared 19 Years Ago. _______ On the William Guyton farm near Ada there was discovered a skeleton in a lonly ravine. Guy- ton reported to the authroities last Friday that his son Mark and a neighbor lad Raymond Clark had discovered a human skeleton while roaming thru the ravine. Fragments of clothing were still attached to the bones and the feet were encased in shoes almost decayed. During the fall of 1903, ac- cording to Guyton's story a num- ber of foreigners were brought to Alger, near here, to work as sec- tion hands on the Erie railroad. One evening just as darkness was falling, he said, four of the foreign laborers passed the Guy- ton farm home, walking toward the west. One of them preceded the other three, and was mumbling to himslef in an unintelligible tongue. A short distance from the house, according to Guyton, the first man turned into a field on the farm, and the others fol- lowed. The first stopped and was overtaken by his companions Guton said. The four conversed in heated tone for several minutes and then walked on, passing into the woods on his farm in which the ravine is located, Guyton declar- ed. Guyton said a cry of dis- tress was heard a few minutes later and then a shot rang out in the dusk. The same night, Alex Carnes, of Ada, returning home from Alger reported that he had met three foreigners walking in the direction of the town to the south. The skull was found first by the same lads two weeks ago on a Sunday when they strolled thru the woods. Curiosity led them to search further with the re- sult that they located the rest of the skeleton. In addition to the bones, two silver dollars, one bearing the year 1891 and the other dated 1894 were found. An investigation by Ada au- thorities has failed to disclose any marks of indentification on the bits of clothing which were ______ clinging to the bones of the ***This article was cut off*** ----
