West Side News Hurray for Holdeman who will run for President in 1924 on the Republican ticket. He will have to move back to Ohio first, for all three presents are from Ohio. Bruce's brother, W. H. We are sure you will get as many votes as Cox did in his race for the same office. Talk about the Chautauqua's ______ picture show, the fair, and all other entertainments you can think of but the crow supper last Wednesday night was away ahead of anything we have had in this neck of the woods for a long time. The menu: first course, cocktail without a kick[,] celery, olives, and pick[les]. Second course, chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes, and bread and butter. Third course[,] salad[,] wafers, cake and cream and one, two, or three pints cups of coffee some took one cup some two and Dock Hilty took three one with cream and two without. Any way everyone was royally entertained and you could not tell a republican from [sic] a democrat or a K. or P. from a democrat or a K. of P. much more but will have to leave a little for the editor. Over in the south west part of the city is a hill and this hill is not known to many of the residents in our town or surrounding country. Dock is a welchman by birth and a democrat by politics he cannot help his nationality, but he could make a big improvement on his politics. He had a nice big bunch of nice looking kids with the except of one that looks a little sour sometimes and he and his family furnished ten votes for Cox. The children allbut the one mentioned look like their mother. We are not a bit surprised when we learned that G. B. Garner D. C. of West Cairo had the misfoture to ditch his auto a few days ago but Mrs. Garner should have our sympathy for the injuries she received in the wreck. This man has always been a little careless in his driving even before automobiles came into use. He would drive colts that would travel with two feet half of the time and think nothing of it. I have held a grudge toward this man ever since he united me in marriage as I think I got the worst end of the bargain. All of Lillie Benroth's sons and daughter and daughter-in-laws and grandchildren visited her last Sunday. It was a home coming day and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. This is the right thing to do boys go often with well filled baskets for I know your mother will enjoy it and I know it will not be much trouble for you are all ...... ----
