Pickett & Sons Nurserymen, have recently purchased the 100-acre Becker farm, also known as Wilder farm, which is situated on McPherson Highway, three blocks west of the interurban depot, and expect to move their office and packing grounds to the new location. This gives the firm a total acreage of 270 acres. They will also specialize in shade trees for arks and allottments, in addition to all kinds of shrubbery for landscape work. ------------------ H. G. Becker Appointed Councilman. Mr. Baker will make a good official and his friends are glad to see him get the honor. No other business was transacted except the passing of the payroll. ------------- Celebrates 89th Birthday. Monday was the 89th birthday aniversary of Mrs. Susan Eisenhard and she will remember the occasion as one of the happiest of her life. Her son, Prof. Geo. B. Eisenhard of Culver Miltary Academy at Culver, Ind., came for the occasion and brought along one of the finest radio outfits he couuld obtain and set it up at the Eisenhard home. The Professor, who is thoroughly informed on radio matters, and his brother, Will who does the "fixin" around the village lighting system had their fun tinkering with the outfit and then Prof. Eisenhard showed her how to turn the dials and bring Pittsburg to Clyde or call Atlanta, Ga., or Davenport, Ia. out of the air, and since that time she has been enjoying the wonders of the radio probably more than any other listener in Clyde. Mrs. Eisenhard is in excellent health and gets around nearly as well as a person of half her years. During the day she remarked that last year she went out and chased a chicken around the yard until she caught it and declared that she felt able to do it again this year. ----
