Daughter is Born as Soldier Goes to Camp Fremont, May 27 -- There are many sad features in connection with departure of soldiers for cantonments, but perhaps the saddest was that of Cleo Smith, who left here Saturday. While he was enroute to the station with other selects, Smith's wife gave birth to an eight pound daughter at the home of her parents. The news was not told the father until he reached the station. Then it was too late for him to make a hurried tirp to get mother and child, before leaving for Camp Taylor. ------------------------------ (Picture of Rev. Harris) (Caption: Rev. Bertha J. Mrs. Harris will preach in the Clyde Presbyterian church next Sunday morning, Nov. 14 at 10 o'clock. She is a wonderful woman with a great message. Be sure and hear her. ----
