No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist. Said John Walter was born in (blank) in the state of Hesse Darmstadt, is thirty five years of age, five feet, two and 1/2 inches high, light comp- lexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and occupation, when enrolled, a shoemaker. Given at Columbus Ohio this third day of June 1865. Charles B. Stivers Capt U.S.A M.O. Oath of Identity John Walter of the town of Jackson, county of Seneca in the state of Ohio, on this 6th day of July in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty five personally appeared before me, the undersigned, a justice of the Peace for the County and state above mentioned. John Walter who being duly sworn according to law, declared that he is the identical John Walter who was a private in the company comanded by Captain blank) in the Regiment 126th commanded by Col. Ebright, that he enlisted on the 28th day of May 1864, for the term of three years and was dischharged at Columbus Ohio on the third day of June, 1865 by reason of instructions from the War Dept. at Washington John Walter Sworn and subscribed to befors me the day and year above written. John Walter moved to South Milford in LaGrange County IN in 1870 where he lived rest of his life.
