Peter LAUTERBUR.  

Peter had an obituary 21 Jul 1908 Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH 

       "SUDDEN SUMMONS - Peter Lauterbur, an aged and respected resident of New
Riegel, died suddenly at his home in that village, Monday morning, July 20,
1908.  His death was due to bowel trouble.  He was taken slightly ill on
Saturday, although not interfering with his work and on Sunday his condition
became worse and it was necessary to send for a Physician.   He retired Sunday
night feeling some better, but the following morning he was found seated in a
chair were death had overtaken him.  His wife and son found him thus about 4:30
o'clock.  Medical aid was summoned and it was found that he had been dead about
twenty minutes.  The deceased is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters
and one sister.  He has resided in New Riegel for a number of years, moving
there from California.  The funeral arrangements will be announced later" (Daily
Tribune, page 5 col 3.).  

Peter also had an obituary 23 Jul 1908 Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH 

       under heading "New Riegel News": "Peter Lauterbur, and aged resident of
this place, died here Monday morning.  Mr. Lauterbur was working on this section
on Saturday and complained of a heat, but nothing more was thought of it. 
Sunday he became ill and a doctor was sent for and administered medicine.  On
Monday morning he was found dead in his chair.  Apparently it was a case of heat
stroke.  Mr. Lauterbur leaves a large family and circle of friends to mourn his
loss" (Seneca Advertiser, page 4 col 5.).
