O. Plattsville A son of the above -named Samuel Bird, deceased, was born in Ocean County, New Jersey, December 6, 1822, and came with his parents to Shelby County in 1832, as aforesaid. He married Miss Susannah Blakely, born in Franklin Township, this county. Mr. and Mrs. Bird settled on his father's home farm, which he purchased shortly after the death of his father. He has filled the office of trustee of Green Township nearly all the time since 1852, and still holds the position. They reared a family of six children, five sons and one daughter; all are now living except one son, Levi J., who enlisted in Company K of the 12th O.V. C., October 1863 was taken prisoner o Clinch River in Virginia, December 1864, and died in Libby Prison February 1865.na,
