A native of Elmira, NY, Mr. Drake was graduated from Stevens Instirute of Technology at Hoboken, NJ, and joined the testing department of the General Electric Co here. Later he became associated with an engineering firm in Kansas City. He entered the public utility field as vice president of the New Jersey Power and Light Company, with headquarters at Morristown; then went to Salisbury ,Md, as vice president of the Eastern Shore Public Service Co, and to Sidney, Ohio, to take charge of the Samuel Insull properties in the State.(Ohio Electric Power Co,500 Ohio Bldg.,Sidney,Ohio) Survivors include his widow (Mary Van Duzen) and a brother(Ambrose).
