W. Lippincott was born in New Jersey in 1826, came to Shelby County in 1847,and married Sarah J. Line in 1856. Mrs. Lippincott is a daughter of John Line and the old lady who was so foully murdered by David Shank. They have raised a family of five children, as follows: James, born 1861; John , born 1864; Edward , born 1866; and Franlin, born 1874.
