Philadelphia Pa 1883 page 315 Loramie Township George W. Moyer was born in Cynthian Township, Shelby County, Ohio, March 5, 1834 where his boyhood days were spent on a farm. He is the son of George and Sarah Moyer, who were natives of Pennsylvania. They came to Shelby county some time prior to 1825, and settled in Cynthian Township. George W. Moyer, subject of this sketch, has made farming his principal vocation, and now owns a good farm of one hundred and twenty acres in Loramie Township, on which he has resided since the autumn of 1881. In August, 1862, he enlisted in Company K, 1st Ohio Heavy Artillery, and served until August 7, 1865, when he was honorably discharged from the service and returned to his home in Shelby County. On the 20th of April , 1870, he married Miss Orilla Clifford, of Loramie Township, who was born April 14, 1839, by whom he has five children, one son and four daughters.
