He came to the US and lived with an Uncle in PA.changing his name to Geuss. He married Mercy (Martha) S. Van Horn of Bucks Co. PA. daughter of Samuel Van Horn and Mercy Lovett Van Horn on September 28, 1856. Christian was a Member of the 42 Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He went awol for one day, the day his first child was born. When his last child was born, Mercy died and he left the eldest daughter to raise the remaing children and went to live with his brother George's family in Toledo, Lucas co. Ohio. After two years he married Marian Momentaheir on abt. 1876. He died on April 22, 1889 and is buried in Pasco, Shelby Co. Ohio. In 1900 Christians family changed the name to Geuy. One son changed his again to Guoy. So the history of the name is Geis/Geuss/Geuy and for one Guoy.
