The depostion was taken in Stark Co., OH, and pertains to property in Augusta, Carrol Co., OH. It was really quite surprising what little bits of genealogical data can be gleaned from the document. W. H. Andre was my great grandfather. His aunt, Hannah Andre, was married to an Alvia Stackhouse. I suspect that William Stackhouse would have been related. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the transcript. (Differences in spelling of last names is an exact transcript of the original.) Merllene Andre Bendixen *************************************************************************** Transcript of deposition The State of Ohio Stark County, ss: William M. Roach of lawful age, a resident of the city of Alliance, Stark county, Ohio, being first duly sworn according to law deposes and says that he is a son of Delila Roach, the grantee named in the deed executed to her by Willam D. Stackhouse, September 9th, 1965, abstracted on Page 14 of the abstract to which this affidavit is attached and that his fathers name was Jason B. Roach, commonly known as j. B. Roach; that; that at the time said deed was executed and delivered to his mother, Delila Roach he was near 15 years of age at the time said William W. D. Stackhouse conveyed said premises to affiants' mother, and that he remembers the event distinctly, and that he remembers the event of said William D. Stackhouse having purchased said property early in the spring of 1865, now about 50 years ago, and having moved into the same with his wife who died on said premises but a short time thereafter, but before said property was conveyed by him to my mother Delila Roach; that upon afffiant's parents purchasing said premises, they immediately moved into the same where they continued to reside until the latter part of the year 1887 or early part of 1888 when they left said premises and moved to Alliance where they resided until their death; that the possession of said William D. Stackhouse, in 1865, and Delila Roach from September 9, 1965 to December 1891, covering a period of more than 26 years and of Mary E. Brannen claiming title to said premises under said Delila Roach from December 1891, and of W. H. Cool claiming title to said premises from January 17, 1911, through said Mary E. Barnnen, has been open, notorious, adverse and undisputed, and in his opinion, after a close and careful examination of the title to the premises described in the caption to said abstract is that the title to said premises is now vested in the said W. H. Cool, absolutely and unquestioned. Wm. M. Roach (signature) Sworn to before me and subscribed in my presence this 18th day of May, 1915. T. (?) E.
