George Debee, who was taken to Cleveland Monday to undergo an operation for the removal of a gastric ulcer, died soon after his arrival at the hospital. Deceased was 60 years of age and made his home with his son in Sebring. In March, 1864, when but a youth, enlisted as a soldier in the civil war and as a raw recruit he was hastened to the front to join the forces of General Sherman. At the fall of Atlanta he was wounded, being shot through the neck. On last Saturday he was taken suddenly ill and on Monday it was decided to take him to Cleveland for an operation, but death followed soon after his arrival at the hospital. Deceased is survived by a wife, one son and one daughter. The hour for the funeral has not been named. Additional Comments: Received from Reference Department, Rodman Public Library, 16 Apr 2005 "            After doing some searching on the microfilm, I was able to locate a death notice for George DeBee.  The attached article is from June 23, 1908, page 3.  I looked on later pages to see if there was any other report of the funeral and burial, but found nothing else."
