The Canton Repository.  Canton, Ohio.  January 4, 1940.
John Frederick Heckendorn, 81, of 423 8th st SW, died at his home this morning 
after a prolonged illness.  He was in the contracting business for 45 years, 
retiring 15 years ago.  He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical church.  
Surviving are tow daughters, Mrs. Ruth Griesheimer and Mrs. Marie Osborne, 
both of Massillon: five sons, Carl Frank, William G., Otis A., J. Walter and 
Edward B., also Massillon; a sister, Sophia in Germany; 13 grandchildren and 
two great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at 
the Gordon-Shaidnagle-Hollinger funeral home in charge of Rev. M.J. Alpern.  
Burial will be in Massillon.  Friends may call at the funeral home anytime.
