January 25, 1936 Mrs. Elizabeth Caroline Mesnar, 68, wife of Fire Chief Robert O. Mesnar, died early this morning in her home, 519 High ave SW. Her death followed a long illness from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Mesnar was born in Illinois the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Maser. When less than a year old she accompanied her parents to Stark county and they settled in Paris. Mrs. Mesnar, who was married to the fire chief, 52 years, was active in affairs of the First Reformed church and a number of lodges. She was affiliated with the Ladies’ Aid society of the church and was a member of Molly Pitcher council, Daughters of America; Elta Rebekah lodge, being a Past Noble Grand; and one of the oldest members of the Buckeye Temple of the Pythian Sisters, being a past chief. Besides her husband, Chief Mesnar she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Edna Dencer of Canton and Miss Rhea Mesnar of the home and four grandchildren. The body is at the Seesholtz parlors and will be removed to the home Sunday noon. The Pythian Sisters will hold services at the home Monday at 7:30 p.m. to be followed by Elta Rebekah lodge at 7:45, and the Daughters of America at 8.
