J.E. MENEGAY, Canton Doctor, Taken by Death
     Dr. John E. Menegay, a practicing Chiropractor, who lived to see his son
and daughter follow in his profession, died this morning at the age of 57.  
     Following a brief illness, his death occurred in his home at 1456
Cleveland Ave. N.W., where the family has resided since last July and where
Dr. Menegay maintained his offices along with his son, Dr. J.E. Menegay Jr.
and his daughter, Dr. Lillian Rippel. 
     Dr. Menegay had practiced Chiropractic for 35 years, coming to Canton 33
years ago from native Louisville, where he received his early schooling. 
     Following his graduation from Mt. Union College, he matriculated at the
Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Ia., and later took post-graduate
work at the Blodgett School of Chiropractic in Cleveland, Logan Basic College
in St. Louis and at the Nashville College of Chiropractic, where he majored in
Medicine. 
     Dr. Menegay was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Knights of
Columbus and Elks lodges. His wife, Mrs. Katie M. Menegay, died in February,
1945.
     In addition to his son and daughter, he leaves three brothers, Robert H.,
and Raymond Menegay of Louisville and Austin F. Menegay of Canton, and two
sisters, Mrs. J.A. Dudley of Louisville and Mrs. Carl Leininger of Canton, and
a grandaughter, Anita Rippel of Canton. His father, the late Edward Menegay,
was a barber in Louisville. 
     Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery, Louisville.
