I am researching my ancestry and my Great, great, great, great, great Grandpa John Halfpenny was a Private in The Second Regiment Light Dragoons of the late Continental Line. I have a copy of where he was presented 100 acres for the Society of the United Brethren. I am a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and I am trying to locate the property given to him. The Legal Description is: One Hundred Acres being Lot numbered 8, in the Second Quarter of the Seventh Township in the Sixteenth Range of the Tract appropriated. I am presently trying to plot this, but I am not sure which of the three tracts reserved for the United Brethren; the Salem Tract (present-day Port Washington), the Gnadehutten Tract and the Schoenbrun Tract (present-day New Philadelphia) that I need to be in. Can you maybe help me with locating his appropriated land? I got this copy from the Archives.
