CERTIFICATE OF DISCHARGE

United States Naval Reserve
This is to certify that Willis Norman Nolan 285 16 94 an Apprentice Seaman, V-
6, has this day been discharged from the U.S. Naval Training Station, Great 
Lakes, Illinois and from the U.S. Naval Reserve by reason of the authority 
contained in BuNav and BuM&S joint ltr Nav-9-LMR of April 3, 1942 with Special 
Order discharge, this 11th day of February, 1943.

Is not recommended for reenlistment.

Additional Comments:
It is my understanding that Willis "Bill" Norman Nolan was discharged from the 
Naval Reserve due to the fact that he was color blind. He later enlisted in the 
Army were he served in WWII.
