On the peak day 4,800 pupils and 56 teachers were absent in the public schools. Policeman Frank Nolan helped deliver a baby boy born to Mrs.Molly Burleigh, at her home, 333 Wheeler st. Nolan had helped deliver three other babies. Metropolitan Park Board announced it had started to buy property at Darrow rd. and Newton st. for a new park.
