Nolan-Frederick nolanfamilyhistory@yahoo.com May 13, 2004, 7:45 pm Akron Beacon Journal Dec. 7, 1950 RAY MURPHY CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Services for Ray Murphy, 41, of 861 Tallmadge rd., who was killed Wednesday in a three truck smashup near Wellington, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in McGowan-Reid Funeral Home. According to State Highway Patrolmen he sideswiped two west bound trucks careened off the road, hit a tree and was burned to death when the truck caught fire. He was returning empty from a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich., where he was hauling steel for the Oyler Co. of Canton. Born in Rome, Ind., he lived in the Falls 40 years. He leaves his wife, Josephine, two sons, Ray Jr. of Akron, and Rolland of Shreve; three daughters Rosella, Rowena and Sally Jo of the Falls; his father Rome E. of West Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Adams of Fort Wayne Ind., and Mrs. Jean Spauding of South Houston, Tex., and three brothers, Lawrence of West Salem, Guy with the Army overseas, and Virgil Porter of Shreve.
